Michelle Garcia
As an HR advocate, Michelle is on a journey and a personal mission to be a Mover of United, Synergized, and EnlightenedFilipino HR Professionals across the country.
Her advocacy includes being a significant part of the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP), the biggest professional association of HR Leaders in the Philippines. In 2018, she was elected as the PMAP National President and today she sits as a member of its Council of Presidential Advisers. Continuing her active participation in the industry, this year, she was elected as officer of the HR Council of the Contact Center Association of the Philippines.
With close to 30 years in HR, Michelle has experienced working in various industries throughout her career managing HR from country, regional, to global scope. Her developed competence are in the areas of Talent Management, Organization Development, Total Rewards, People Operations; HR Systems and Analytics, and Labor Relations.
Today, she is the Regional HR Director for Asia-Pacific at Dexcom, the leader in transforming diabetes care and management by providing continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology to help patients and healthcare professionals better manage diabetes.
Listed part of the 2020 Top 100 Filipinos to follow on LinkedIn, Michelle was accorded in 2018 as Fellow in People Management (FPM) by the Philippine Society of Fellows; she also received citation from CHRO Asia as one of the 2014 Global 100 Most Talented HR Leaders and 2015 Top 100 Influential HR Leaders.
A certified MindGym, DDI Facilitator & trained Investors in People (IiP) Champion, Michelle has led various organizational transformation initiatives. One of which is the Gold IIP Standard Accreditation of SGS and achievement of Gawad Maestro Award as Organizational Champion for Workplace Learning & Development.
A Psychology graduate and recipient of Jose Rizal Academic Excellence Award from De La Salle University, an alumna of the Asian Institute of Management and DLSU-College of St. Benilde for her post-graduate certificates in Management and Organization Development, and a certified International HR Manager (CIHRM) by the American Certification Institute, Michelle never stopped to develop herself leading her to graduate from other various post-graduate programs.
