As the Pro Chancellor of the University of Cyberjaya, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, University Malaya Specialist Centre, Malaysia’s premier Quaternary Hospital and Director of University Malaya, Malaysia’s oldest University, he has made significant contributions to the world of work, education, and healthcare,

An alumnus of the Harvard Business School, he completed his PhD Education from Federation University, Australia where he was recognised as a distinguished alumnus in 2022. The National University of Malaysia conferred an Honorary Doctorate for his work.

In addition to his academic work, Dr Palan has had four decades of global experience in both human resources and entrepreneurship. The author of 20 books, he is an avid researcher with a focus on employee well-being and the future of work. He is a Certified Speaking Professional, National Association of Speakers, USA.

Dr Palan’s entrepreneurial success includes taking both his HR start up and education company public. He has also been recognised for his contributions to society, having been appointed by the King of Malaysia to serve as an independent member of the Emergency Committee during the pandemic crisis. He was also conferred Malaysia’s highest civilian award, the prestigious honorary title “Tan Sri” in 2016.
